Kelly Featherstone

Vice President & Client Liaison

Ms. Featherstone began her career working for Philip Morris USA’s Corporate and Government Affairs Department providing economic and legislative research to corporate and industry executives. She analyzed and reported to industry lobbyists on current tax and economic issues pending at state and Federal levels. She represented the company at legislative and anti-industry conferences and monitored the media for significant national and local industry coverage.

Ms. Featherstone transitioned to Wachovia Securities (now Wells Fargo) as a Client Liaison creating financial proposals and research for clients. She maintained requirements at the satellite office to ensure compliance with SEC requirements and executed corporate legal communications. Ms. Featherstone also maintained a financial database for hundreds of clients, as well as representing the firm at client presentations.

In 2009, Ms. Featherstone joined HT Partners, LLC. She currently manages client relations, compliance management and marketing for firm. She works directly with clients to execute financial, estate, risk and family planning as well as working with numerous affiliate advisors. Ms. Featherstone is responsible for coordinating activities to ensure adherence to the compliance rules and procedures, identifying risks and internal control weaknesses and proposing solutions. She also assists in maintaining the firm’s standards for compliance with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and has worked to develop internal regulatory procedures for the 2010 SEC Custody Compliance Regulations. She supervises the financial institution’s records and retention program and is currently collaborating on a library of planning articles to be published in 2011.

Ms. Featherstone received her undergraduate degree from the University of Rhode Island in Consumer Affairs/Economics, graduating with honors. She attended the University of Delaware for a National Exchange Program focused on Government Policy and Finance. Ms. Featherstone received her Master of Public Administration concentrating in Government Finance from the University of Connecticut. While at UCONN, she worked as a Fellow at the Office of Fiscal Analysis for the State of Connecticut and wrote the annual newsletter updating educators and students on advances in public policy research for the Institute of Public Policy.

Kelly lives with her family in Old Saybrook, Connecticut.
